For immediate release: April 15, 2025
Vancouver, B.C. – Public Disco is excited to announce four 2025 Summer Block Parties presented by 2 Hoots Hard Iced Tea. This year’s series will feature two free, all-ages block parties–including an expansion of the Public Disco Block Party on Granville Island to two days–plus two 19+ ticketed outdoor music events featuring headliners Soul Clap, Ash Lauryn and Jason Kendig. Known for creating safe and welcoming atmospheres, Public Disco events transform unconventional urban spaces in Vancouver into vibrant event venues. The events showcase a diverse lineup of local and international DJs, are fully licensed, and offer a unique experience where music, community, and the urban environment collide.
“We are thrilled to announce Public Disco’s 2025 Summer Block Parties, which will transform Vancouver’s urban spaces into vibrant hubs of music and connection,” says Nickolas Collinet, Executive Director of Public Disco Society. “This year’s events showcase a variety of dance music genres, including disco, house, groovy techno, garage, salsa, Latin tech and more, plus a special all-vinyl day, and much-anticipated headliner sets from Soul Clap, Ash Lauryn, and Jason Kendig. By producing free and low-barrier ticketed events, we invite more people to engage with dance music, whether they’re deeply embedded in the scene or discovering it for the first time.”
Kicking off the series is the free, all-ages Public Disco Block Party on Granville Island on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. The first day will celebrate disco, garage, and house music, and the second day will showcase an array of Latin music genres from Salsa to Guaracha. This two-day Block Party will also feature pop-up bars, food trucks, and a kid’s zone.
Following are two 19+, ticketed events in Mount Pleasant. The first will be held on Saturday, July 19 at the City Centre Artist Lodge. The event will feature international DJs Soul Clap (NYC) and Ash Lauren (ATL/DET), as well as local DJs Max Ulis, DJ dood, and Sayang. This Block Party is presented in collaboration with SLAB, its founder and the event’s curator, Max Ulis.
The second 19+, ticketed event is Public Disco’s Pride Block Party on Saturday, August 2 at 3rd Ave & Ontario Street. This Block Party is hosted in partnership with Vancouver Pride Society, and will be expanded to include two stages of music, including sets by international DJ Jason Kendig (NYC), Montreal’s DJ Hermano, local DJs AWood, Fischer Bryce, and Afrooz on the Fizz Mobile Stage, as well as Lionessa, Riki Rocket, Jenny Lea, and Jesse Walker on the Lounge Stage.
The final event of the series will be free, all-ages and an All-Vinyl Block Party held on Saturday, September 6 at šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl\'e7énḵ Square in Downtown Vancouver. The final Block Party will be the largest of the summer and will be the first time Public Disco’s summer events have returned to the venue since 2019. The event will feature local all-vinyl DJs, food trucks, pop-up bars, a record and vintage market, and a kid’s zone.
Public Disco is excited to offer an expanded BC beer selection at all 2025 Block Parties through a new partnership with Phillips Brewing & Malting Co, as well as an enhanced sound experience on the Fizz Mobile Stage. Public Disco is grateful for the support from Creative BC, the City of Vancouver, Granville Island and Downtown Van.
